My Diary

‘My Diary’ - A collaborative project with Laura Beecham, a diary entry written by a 15-year-old Laura in 2010, exposing the relatable and awkward experience of being a girl at school, exploring coming of age, sexuality and self-identity. Using mixed medium, different drawing materials and digital collage to give the viewer a real sense that they are reading from Lauras diary, and the use of colour as a reminder of the light heartedness and joy of being young. ‘My Diary’ seeks to shine a light nostalgia, it is a humorous take on the drama of adolescence and the complexity that comes with coming to terms with who you really are.
